Flower Rescue

October 17th, 2012 — 11:18pm

Last weekend, on my way out of the farmer’s market, I spotted a small bunch of assorted flowers which must had been forgotten about after some kids played with them. Yellow, orange, pink and purple. They were colourful and of different shapes, with one gooseberry-like weed that looked a little tired, but I just couldn’t ignore them. I picked them up and placed them into a glass bowl full of water as soon as I got back home to enjoy the last bit of the flowers’ life.

That evening, the flowers were looking fresher than ever! I wasn’t at all expecting them to be revived this well. Yesterday (three days later), the one with gooseberry-like lanterns opened up its tips, blooming with white frill like flowers. So pretty! I never thought I’d get this much pleasure out of these abandoned flowers.

The semi-transparent green stripy buds looked like gooseberries to me.

New little friends

October 15th, 2012 — 11:00pm

It happened almost three weeks ago, one morning I dreamt about my friend Mutsu. I woke up and thought this could be a sign, so I immediately emailed her saying ‘Did you…?’ A few hours later, she got back to me with ‘Yes, I just had a baby girl this morning!’ We both couldn’t believe how I thought it could be the day. Thinking that I have a history, I really could be an esper, or my friends’ babies are extra special. Either ways, it’s a great feeling to know that there will be some new little friends to meet the next time I see my favorite friends.

Gen’s parents’ farm

October 1st, 2012 — 10:08pm

Visiting Gen‘s parents’ farm and their historic house was something so romantic that my limited vocabulary can’t express it. But I can list some of the peaceful activities I witnessed there… ¬†Little bunnies hopping in a line, two friendly¬†dogs running around to welcome us, a cat having a nap, and a baby cow galloping. Everyone looked so happy which made me even happier. It totally made sense that Gen was brought up there.

Chris and I brought back some yummy pies from a sweet local cafe, but it also made me realize that there are some things that you can’t take with you.
