Inu to mofu

December 12th, 2012 — 10:05pm

We’ve been looking after my sister’s dog. One night he seemed a little cold, so we wrapped a blanket around him. He was so happy that he didn’t want to get out from beneath it. Now he complains when he doesn’t have it and is even starting to get fussy about the way he’s wrapped.

He also knows the best sunny spot in the house.

A lot of department stores in Japan have (or used to have) a museum inside their stores. The other day, Chris and I were wondering what’s on at the Sogo Museum in Yokohama, so we decided to ask at the information counter. We were immediately drawn to a sharp looking mid-aged man who looked as if he was from the 80’s (Showa period), however he surprized us by speaking English. We found it funny that he didn’t recommend the current exhibition (as it was by local kids, not “artists”), saying so in a semi-professional American accent.

Instead we found this white tea salon in a glass case.

I totally forgot how good it feels to spend time with my family and friends.

Prep school kids in Kamakura.
