Chris and I went to see our favourite band last friday. It reminded me of the night we listened to their album at a music bar with a giant record library and a sound system way better than my earphones. Ever since I couldn’t help but think what it would be like to see the band perform live, but never expected the day would come so sudden.

At the show we also enjoyed looking at a very spontaneous go-go dancer in front of us. Her psychedelic dance reminded me of a screen saver, (she moved that smooth!). She also smelled good and fresh especially when she whipped her hair.

It’s become the night I never want to forget.

Morning Glory is a flower that used to represent so much of my Japanese summer, especially during my childhood. Somehow I’d totally forgotten about its existence, until one morning recently. I found a fence covered with blue Morning Glory on my walk, and picked¬†two flowers and a leaf from the vines to bring back home. On my train journey home I followed the¬†blue ribbon as the fence ran trackside.

Come the night both flowers had wilted, but then I found three tightly packed buds hidden behind the circular petals. The next morning two new flowers bloomed with the last flower opening the morning after. Every morning was a surprise as each of the flowers were in different shade of blues. I really liked that the petals had neat folding lines, in between those distinctive star-like spikes… but how do they grow like that?

So simple, so organized.

Thank you Valentine’s day for making the week a little bit sweeter than usual.

An origami lips window display I saw last year.
